A life coach business, like any business needs multiple income streams to truly succeed in this day and age. Other than corporate coaches, most life coaches are billing around $100 to $200 per hour, according to the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Not bad pay. However…
If you rely solely on this you are locking yourself into working “x” amount of hours for the income you want, when instead, you could be opening up additional streams of income that are not dependent on “billable time.”
You could be on vacation, and the income would still be flowing. Wouldn’t it be nice to have income coming into your Paypal account, as you relax on a sunny beach halfway around the world? This is called passive income because it takes no effort to produce once you have everything in place.
And, no this not some kind of Life Coaching MLM System.
I’m talking about direct sales – through your autoresponder emails and your website. The personal development industry, like the life coaching industry, is huge and quickly growing. Products like inspirational books, goal tracking tools, DVDs and vision boards are the type of products that can benefit your clients.
As a life coach, you will get to know what type of products can best serve individual clients and recommend them. There are also personal development products that are helpful to most of us and relate directly to life coaching.
For example, vision board software is ideal for those who benefit from daily visual reminders of their goals. The larger your life coach business’ subscription list, and the more traffic your site receives, the greater the potential for sales.
What type of products will be most helpful to your clients and those who opted into your email list? Any informational product that helps your clients and subscribers define what they want in life, set goals and reach those goals. The sky’s the limit, but you can refine to have life coach business products that best reflect your coaching style and philosophy. Where Can You Find These Life Coach Products?
Depending on the time you have available and your skills, you can create them yourself or you can purchase rights to sell as your own. Alternatively, you can come up with the ideas for your products and outsource the creation of them by using a resource like Elance or Guru (where you put your project up for bid).
In the case of the downloadable products, you only need to one copy, which means you save a great deal. Plus the value of downloadable products if often perceived as higher, and there’s no waiting time.
Searching for life coaching products (I don’t recall the exact query I used, but I think it was “coaching products”) I found Sean McPheat’s Royalty Free Products. Sean is a well-known life coach who has been on the BBC, ITV and CNN International, and he sells a large package of royalty free (in other words you keep 100% of the profits), downloadable products you can brand and in turn sell to your clients. Become a Life Coach Affiliate
Additionally you can sell products to enhance your clients’ and subscribers’ as an affiliate for online distributors like Your Success Store.

This is the best vision board software I’ve seen and is recommended by motivational speakers like Bob Proctor and Jack Canfield.
Life Mastering has yet another personal growth store with life coaching products you can sell to your clients, such as a workbook that Jack Canfield, the world’s leading coach, helped to create Life Lessons for mastering the Law of Attraction. Life Mastering also has software for creating digital vision boards.
Solution Box also has a number of great products and programs for life coaches – some of them free. They also offer a coaching affiliate program.
Mark Victor Hansen, the co-creator of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series, offers a great seminar where he will teach you how to create a NY Times best-selling book – and launch your career into the stratosphere. You can also become an affiliate for his products.
So as you can see, there are several ways to boost the income of your life coach business and enhance your client’s progress.

I like the idea of a passive income. I can get everything in order for my clients and show them how to go about keeping things going. Then my work is done except follow ups with my clients to see if they need anything else that requires my help or input.
