Professional Coaching Certification Program – Duquesne University
Course Descriptions – Professional Coaching
There are four areas required in the certification program. In addition to the foundations of coaching courses (see below), we will be teaching how to turn your coaching vision into action so that participants can start and run their own businesses if they so choose.
* CC – Core competencies (**Need 24 CEU’s over 3 years)
* PD – Personal development of the coach
* BD – Business development of coach’s practice
* OT – Other skills or tools directly applicable to coaching
* RC – Recertification
Phase I Core Competencies and Special Topics (66 contact hours)
Electives (30 contact hours)
Integration and Coaching Field Experience (31 contact hours)
I. Foundations of Coaching Training (73 Face-to-Face or Voice-to-Voice contact hours)
II. Field Work: Peer Coaching, Client Coaching, Supervised coaching observations, Homework and Portfolio Development via Blackboard and Discussion with Faculty (30 hours)
III. Electives: Participants must choose one (but may sign up for 2) of the following electives (20 – 30 contact hours). Specific electives offered in a cohort are determined by student majority.
